fIRST GRADE SIGHT WORDS TO LEARN
All first graders need to be able to read and spell the words on this list by the end of the year. Here are a few activities you can do at home to help your child practice their sight words:
- READ!!! The BEST thing you can do is read! It will build sight word vocabulary resulting in better fluency and comprehension.
- Word detective. After you read a book, go back and find all of the first grade sight words you can!
- Flashcards. See how quickly you can read your sight words using flashcards.
- Rainbow write. Use different color crayons, markers or colored pencils to practice writing your sight words.
